The photo makes me want to climb to the top of the stairs and peek in the window. Where is Johnsonville? And why is it abandoned?
Johnsonville is Moodus, Connecticut. Why it’s abandoned is a bit of a mystery – I’ve heard that apparently there was a bad review of the restaurant and it never recovered. I’ve also heard that the man who owned it wanted to sell it and he died a few years ago. His kids own it now, I think, and are trying to sell the “living museum.” I’m also not sure if the town has changed its zoning, which contributes to Johnsonville’s crumbling.
